Games lined-up for Summerlympics 2018 Lets Go!
Games lined-up for Summerlympics 2018 – General Santos City (March 17, 2018)
The city sports division under the City Mayor’s Office recently laid down a roster of games for the conduct of Summerlympics 2018 slated April 16.
About 13 individual and team sports events including basketball, volleyball, football, sepak takraw, table tennis, chess, dama and cheerdance contests were lined up for the upcoming summer sizzler.
According to Jerry Gonzales of CSD, this year’s Summerlympics organizer, big cash prizes and trophies are at stake for the participants of these events.
The Summerlympics will open with a parade that will start at the Robinson’s Mall and end up with a short program at Lagao Gym.
The schedule of games will start on May 2 and will be played mostly at the Oval Court.
The rationale of this project is for the youth to unite for a cause and to shun away from drugs and criminalities which most teenagers are involved with these days.
“Let’s not also forget physical fitness,” Gonzales said.
The Summerlympics is the city-organized summer sports league and a component of the Gensan Summer Youth Festival which will start on April 16 and end May 31.(CPIO/Sulit/RSC)
